Stav & Regn Bucket and Ladle Set
Stav & Regn Bucket and Ladle Set
Coming Soon
One carries the water. The other turns it into rain.
They were specified together, in the same materials, by the same hands. Ash, 304 stainless, cotton. No plastic, no glue, no finish, and nothing in either object that we don't know about or don't tell you about.
The short version
Stav is sixteen staves of American ash around a one-piece 304 stainless steel liner, just under 2 gallons, on a cotton rope handle. No adhesive in the body and nothing applied to the wood.
Regn is a 21 inch ladle with a perforated plate across the pour lip, so the water falls as rain.
Why they belong together
A rain ladle wants a bucket deep enough to fill it in one movement, and a bucket this size wants a ladle long enough to reach the stove without standing up.
And the set is how this product line was designed. The bucket holds, the ladle carries, and the water arrives as it should.
What we are still testing
Both pages carry the full detail, and we would rather you read it.
The short version: we broke one of our own buckets on purpose, found corrosion in a ladle weld, and changed the specification for both. Nothing on this page is a product we have stopped checking.

Care
Care
Keep both out of the hot room between sessions. A sauna at 190°F dries wood far faster than a house does. Bare ash left in the heat week after week will eventually check, and the ladle handle can shrink in its ferrule and loosen. Carry them out with you.
Do not soak the bucket before first use. It has a stainless liner, so it has nothing to seal, and wetting the wood before heating it is the fastest way to crack it.
Empty both after use. Lift the bucket liner out so the wood underneath can dry. Do not leave water standing in the ladle cup, because weld seams are where stainless gives up first.
The bucket's joints will open and close, and that is not a fault. Wood moves with humidity and a coopered bucket shows it at the joints. If they open after a hot session, bring the bucket indoors and they will close again.
Both will age. There is no finish on either, so the ash will lighten and take on a dry, open texture. That is the trade for bare wood, and we would rather you knew in advance.
For stains on the steel: a non-chlorine cleaner and a non-metallic pad. Never steel wool, which embeds iron that then rusts. No bleach or chlorine cleaners on stainless, ever.
Neither goes in the dishwasher.
